Understanding your care

Urgent care identifies the cause of pain or injury and the treatment needed. Contact the clinic with when symptoms started, any swelling or fever, relevant medicines and available dental records.

Care that fits your needs

The cause and urgency of your symptoms determine whether repair, infection treatment or injury care is needed.

Tooth pain or infection

Assessment may lead to a repair, root canal care, drainage or extraction. Antibiotics alone do not remove every dental cause.

Broken tooth or restoration

A repair or temporary protection may be possible; definitive care follows the findings.

Dental injury

Prompt assessment matters. A knocked-out permanent tooth is time-sensitive; a baby tooth must not be replanted.

During and after care

Urgent care & follow-up

Call with your symptoms so the team can advise on urgency and available appointments. The first visit may provide diagnosis and initial relief, with further visits needed to complete treatment. Recovery depends on the cause and care provided; worsening symptoms need reassessment.

While waiting or after treatment

Follow the treating clinician’s instructions and keep any broken tooth fragments or lost restoration. Seek urgent reassessment if symptoms worsen. Do not wait for a clinic response if breathing or swallowing becomes difficult or swelling spreads rapidly.

Your questions, answered

Is SmileOn open 24 hours?

Clinic hours are Monday–Saturday 11am–9pm and Sunday 1pm–6pm. Call to confirm urgent appointment availability. Outside these hours, seek another available emergency dental service. Serious symptoms require hospital emergency care without delay.

What should I tell the clinic when I call?

Explain when the problem started, where it hurts, and whether there is swelling, fever, injury or bleeding. Mention medicines, allergies and relevant health conditions. This helps the team assess urgency and available appointments.

Will antibiotics fix my toothache?

Not usually by themselves. A dental cause often needs treatment such as drainage, a repair, root canal care or extraction. Medicines are prescribed only when indicated.

Can an urgent visit finish all treatment?

Sometimes, but the first priority may be assessment and initial care. Further appointments can be needed for definitive treatment.
